Early Music Long Island, or Emily, is a community driven ensemble based in Nassau County that specializes in the outreach and performance of Early Music on the geographic Long Island area. With rotating members, students, professionals, and friends,
We are open to participation by any and all interested parties whether they have an historically appropriate instrument or not.
Our group explores historical repertoire such as continuo songs, early dances, and madrigals performed on instruments such as lutes, viola da gambas, guitars, ukuleles, cajons, violins, spoons, much more!
EMLI holds performances with an open mind and inclusion as its guiding forces.
